The Oneida Nation Arts Program is pleased to announce a new grant
program to bring qualified Native Artists to Wisconsin schools.
With
funding from the Wisconsin Arts Board and the Oneida Tribe of Indians,
we are providing up to 100% of the artists fees for cultural workshops, residencies, and performances in your school.
To apply: 1) review the artists in this directory with your teachers, parent
organization, and school administration;
2) select artists you wish to host
in your school and determine possible dates for their work in your school;
3) contact the Oneida Nation Arts Program with your artist selection and
dates;
4) the Oneida Nation Arts Program will check availability with the
artists and/or put you in direct contact with the artist;
5) when arrangements
have been finalized with the artist, fill out the grant application form and
the grant agreement in this booklet or go on our website;
6) grant
applications will start being accepted August 15, 2007 for projects
occurring between October 1, 2007-September 30, 2008.
7) you may
submit your application by mail, fax or email;
8) applications are reviewed
on a first-come, first-served basis; and must be reviewed 4 weeks prior to the engagement;
9) applications received prior to August
15, 2007 will be held and considered to have arrived on August 15, 2007;
10) your school will be notified about your application within 2 weeks from
submission.
Our artists are also available to conduct TEACHER IN-SERVICES on
cultural awareness and sensitivity, Native and Oneida culture, and Native
ways for bringing minds together.
