Wisconsin Chapter of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (WIVLA) - The State
Bar's Pro Bono program has teamed up with the Wisconsin Arts Board and the Wisconsin
Assembly of Local Arts Agencies to form WIVLA. Lawyers who volunteer can render
pro bono service to artists or arts agencies in a number of capacities including
speaking briefly, on a one-time basis, to local arts agencies about legal topics
pertinent to them, serving on the board of an arts-related organization, and providing
direct representation to an artist, local arts agency or arts-related non-profit.
Substantive areas in which advice and counsel are most needed include basic business
transactions, non-profit incorporation, taxation, intellectual property and estate
planning. Contact Elizabeth Rich, pro bono coordinator at 800-444-9404, ext. 6177,
or 608-250-6177.
